Import your Tekla and Advance Steel lists.
Bring the lists you already have. Fabricata Track reads them, shows you every row, and only then builds the project: assemblies, their single parts, the quantity of each part in each assembly, and the weights. You can also type items in by hand.
What you can bring in
Tekla Structures reports
The Assembly Part List (Gross) is the best: assemblies with their parts, so part preparation and assembly work are both tracked. The Assembly List (Gross) gives assemblies only, and the Part or Plate Part List (Gross) gives loose parts such as laser-cut plates. Files saved as .xsr, .txt or the Word-wrapped .doc are all read.
Advance Steel lists
Export the assembly list or the single-part list from Advance Steel to Excel or CSV and import it. Headings such as Main part mark, Single part mark, Weight, Global weight and Lot/Phase are recognised, and you confirm the column matching first, so a template with different headings still works.
Any Excel or CSV list
Pick which column is the mark, the quantity, the weight and the rest. Weights in tonnes are converted to kilograms, and a total weight is divided by the quantity. Your matching is remembered for the next file with the same headings.
Typed in by hand
No list yet, or a small job? Add assemblies and single parts eight rows at a time. They go through the same checks as an import, and you can mix typed items with imported lists on the same project.
Your existing Gantt chart
Vertex42 Gantt workbooks can be brought into the schedule: groups become work packages, tasks keep their owner and percentage complete, and you choose which weekly copy of the sheet to import.
How the numbers are read
- Mass is per piece. A line's total weight is its mass times its quantity.
- On an assembly part list, a part's quantity is the total across the assembly's quantity. An assembly mark with a quantity of 2 that lists a plate with a quantity of 4 uses 2 of that plate in each assembly.
- An assembly's weight already includes its parts. The steel is counted once: part preparation earns a share of the assembly weight, and the assembly stages earn the rest.
- A part used in several assemblies is one mark. Its required quantity is the sum of its uses, however many assemblies share it.
- Totals are checked. After reading a Tekla report, the totals are compared with the report's own totals, and any difference is shown before you confirm.
Nothing is saved until you have seen it
A preview of every row
You see what will be added, what will be updated and what has a problem, with the reason for each. Rows with problems can be skipped while the valid rows go in, or the whole file refused.
Problems you can fix
The rows that failed come back as a CSV with the source row number and the original columns, so the list can be corrected and imported again.
Revisions keep the work
Importing a revised list updates marks already in the project and keeps everything already recorded on them. Marks no longer listed can be marked as replaced, never deleted. The source file is kept with the project.
